Speaker needed for More than 1 year
Opportunity Description: Job Description - Speaker POSITION: Por Tu Familia-Speaker ADA STAFF CONTACT: Sharon Mousselli Email: smousselli@diabetes.org OVERVIEW: The Speaker is responsible for presenting the topic specific information during the educational workshop module session(s). Each session is intended to be interactive. The Speaker will need to present the information, engage the session participants, stimulate discussion and encourage responses. The Speaker’s Guide is provided as a roadmap; the Speaker may vary the presentation style to better suit his/her individual presentation preferences, as long as all module subject matter is covered. The Speaker will work closely with the Lead Volunteer and/or ADA Staff. SKILL SET: • Knowledge of the Hispanic/Latino community • Bilingual-English and Spanish • Knowledge of subject matter • Strong presentation skills • Medical/health background, doctors, certified diabetes educators, nurses, nutritionists, registered dietitians, personal trainers or professional dance instructors JOB RESPONSIBILITES: • Work closely with Por Tu Familia Lead Volunteer. • Review discussion guide prior to workshop • Prepare necessary flipchart headings prior to workshop • Present workshop TIME COMMITMENT: • Pre-workshop preparation, 2-3 hours • Workshop presentation - approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour
